YBA Kanoo’s CSR strategy is guided by its strong commitment to ethics and supporting economic progress in all the countries in which it operates. The group has undertaken many noteworthy CSR projects in Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, encouraging sustainable socio-economic development across the region through its education, health, social welfare, and nationalisation initiatives.
YBA Kanoo works alongside government entities, business partners and reputed NGOs with an aim to encourage responsible behavior and ethical dealing. It consistently supports established charities, institutions, events and causes through philanthropy, dedicating substantial funds and moral support to them through the work of the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Foundation, which was established in 2015 by Khalid Kanoo the current Deputy Group Chairman.

The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award
In 1989, the group, led by its late Executive Chairman, Ahmed bin Ali Kanoo, established an award in memory of its founder, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo, to promote knowledge and science. The $6 million YBA Kanoo Award, governed by the Board of Trustees and approved by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, seeks to give incentives to outstanding individuals or groups whose work represents a qualitative addition to human knowledge, as well as recognise the creativity of Arab authors and scholars.
