The Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award held a ceremony honouring the winners of its tenth session at the Kanoo Tower in the Diplomatic Area. During the ceremony, the 12 winners received certificates of appreciation and financial rewards in the presence of the deputy governor of the Capital Governorate, a group of academics, university professors, heads of boards of local newspapers, experts in cultural affairs, and a number of members of the Kanoo family, led by Group Chairman Mr. Khalid Mohamed Kanoo, Deputy Group Chairman Mr. Fawzi Ahmed Kanoo & Dr. Abdullatif Jassim Kanoo.

The Group Chairman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Award Mr. Khalid Mohamed Kanoo confirmed that honouring the winners in the three fields of the award; the economic, scientific research and the field of arts, comes as a continuation of the efforts of the 10th session that started in 2019. It is also a culmination of the efforts of researchers and innovators in scientific fields and the various innovators who were keen to actively participate in the award competitions that presented works worthy of praise and appreciation.
Mr. Khalid Kanoo also highlighted that the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, since its establishment in 1998, has been encouraging Gulf and Arab specialists in the field of scientific research who seek to spread scientific knowledge in the society.

During the ceremony, Dr. Nadhem Al-Saleh, a member of the award’s board of trustees, gave a speech on behalf of the members of the board of trustees in which he thanked the Kanoo family’s initiative in caring for science, culture and the arts through the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award and congratulated the winners of the 10th award ceremony and praised their efforts in preparing scientific research which received advanced degrees in the evaluation. Dr. Al-Saleh also spoke about the achievements & contribution of the late Professor Mubarak Al-Atwi, former Secretary General of the Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, and shed light on many of his achievements during his years of service.

The ceremony included honouring the local newspapers, the Bahrain Journalists Association and the University of Bahrain, which supported the award and cooperated with it by highlighting its activities and participating in the evaluation committees.

The Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Award, which was established in 1998, comes within the framework of the Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo Group’s interest in supporting projects of public service and effective contribution to religious, cultural and humanitarian projects and in encouraging thinkers and scholars from the Gulf and Arab countries in the fields of Islamic studies, finance, economics and business, and various fields of science and literature. The award bears the name of the founder of the group, Haji Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo, in memory of him, as he was known for his interest in science, education and the assistance of science students, in addition to his great contributions to humanitarian and charitable works that benefit the community.
